Hi, my name is Bianca Laycock, and I am an aspiring UX designer. I am passionate about UX because it is the perfect intersection of creativity, lateral thinking, and understanding the human experience which I find really interesting. I enjoy designing experiences which solve novel problems in an engaging way.
I attended the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy at NASA in Alabama, USA, in 2016, and subsequently spent a week interning at the Honeywell Users Group in Madrid in 2018. Last year I won the IBM iX Essential Projects award for Desirability for designing an interactive installation to encourage meaningful donations during the bushfire crisis, and I also completed a redesign for The Water Shop where I currently work.
I have experience working with teams and leading teams through project work at university, team-based office and workplace environments, and various leadership courses and roles. I am handy with the Adobe suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects), as well as Figma and Balsamiq.
I am keenly interested in activities outside of work and school and maintain a healthy and busy lifestyle without detracting from commitments.
